A Communication & Confidence Initiative

We believe education goes beyond academics—it is equally about building confidence, communication, and readiness for the world ahead. Through our interactions with children and young adults across partner organisations, we identified a clear gap: while many students were performing reasonably well in their studies, spoken English remained an area of hesitation. The fear of speaking in English often affected their confidence in public interaction, interviews, and future career opportunities.

To address this, we initiated engaging Spoken English Programmes in collaboration with Navjeevan Centre and Jeevan Jyoti Aashalay Centre, designed to make learning enjoyable, interactive, and confidence-building. Conducted through fun, activity-based sessions including games, conversations, role play, skits, and interactive exercises, the programme encouraged students to learn in a relaxed and encouraging environment rather than a formal classroom setting.

What made this initiative especially meaningful was the transformation we witnessed. By the end of the sessions, students confidently participated in skits, debates, individual speaking activities, and spontaneous conversations in English. Perhaps the most encouraging outcome was seeing many of them continue speaking in English amongst themselves even after the sessions concluded—a true sign that the fear had begun to give way to confidence.

For us, this project is about enabling independence. In a world where communication plays a crucial role in education, employment, and personal growth, helping young individuals find their voice can be the first step toward unlocking greater opportunities.
